Limekiln Canyon Park in Porter Ranch

In Porter Ranch, the quaint northern section of San Fernando Valley, there are a variety of parks that offer hiking and walking trails. Many of these also host community events. One popular park is Limekiln Canyon Park, which offers a wide variety of things to do. In addition to a year-round creek, this park has plenty of picnic areas, workout equipment, and two community rock gardens. The first of these is situated alongside a patch of Narrowleaf Milkweed to encourage monarch butterfly conservation and features a number of painted rocks. As you walk further down the trail, the paved road and suburban bustle of Porter Ranch begins to fade away. The canyon opens up to reveal a wide dirt trail that has plenty of shade thanks to its luscious trees.
